Welcome to our Pauline Haarer Website!
École Pauline Haarer is located in downtown Nanaimo, BC, Canada. We have a community of 250 French immersion students, their families, 20 staff members and a very, large supportive group of volunteers (both parents and community members). Please use the links at the left to navigate our website.
WEEKLY REMINDERS Our final weekly memo for 2015-2016 is posted here. Check our web calendar for up-to-date information on events and our monthly school newsletter posted the first day of each month.
CONGRATULATIONS to all of our athletes for their incredible efforts at the district track meet in both individual and relay events. Thanks to the team effort, our school placed third in the district for small schools. Congratulations team!
LIBRARY NEWSIt's ime to start thinking about your summer reading list! Vancouver Island Regional Library is once again offering the popular Summer Reading Club program to encourage kids to keep reading in July and August. Embark on a reading adventure at the library by participating in this year’s BC Summer Reading Club: Book A Trip! Join in the fun with books, prizes, reading records, contests and activities. Then celebrate a successful summer of reading with a wrap-up party at the library. Registration is FREE and starts on June 20th. For more information, call or visit your local branch of Vancouver Island Regional Library.
GARDENING: Thank you Helen, Julie, April and Jeannette for guiding the garden beds clean-up Monday, June 27. Our amazing garden volunteers are organizing a watering schedule over the summer. If you are able to help out, please let the office before July 7. If you are playing in the schoolyard or the park over the summer, pulling just a few weeds or feeding the water bag around the tree will make our space look more inviting!
VOLUNTEER INFORMATION: Thank you to every volunteer who has helped throughout the year. Every job, big or small is appreciated and we could not be an amazing school without such support and commitment. If you completed your criminal record check this year, it is valid for 5 years, so you will not have to repeat the process in September. If you have not done the CRC, we have an information sheet explaining this online and free process in the office. Please send Jennifer Mile an email with your name and birthdate when you have completed the CRC. Volunteer Drivers must complete the volunteer driver information form in the office.
BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE - Kairis Gingerysty is back running our on-site Before and After School Care Program. Hours are 7:30-8:45 am and from after school until 5:30 pm.
SCHOOL HOURS: Monday (8:45 am - 1:37 pm); Tues-Fri (8:45 am - 2:37 pm)
